The statesman, who remained a prominent player in the country's governance for many years, passed away on that day at age 80 while undergoing healthcare in India.

He struggled relentlessly for political pluralism, and we are enjoying those rights today because of his struggle.

Turmoil Breaks Out at Arena

Aviation Hub Disruption and Parliament Standoff

Earlier in the day, numerous of supporters momentarily entered Nairobi's international airport, interrupting a ceremony where President William Ruto and dignitaries were accepting Odinga's remains with formal recognition.

This event prompted a two-hour suspension of aviation services.

Assemblies also flooded nearby roads and attempted to breach parliament, where the administration had first arranged the public viewing.

National Heritage and Ethnic Devotion

Although primarily recognized as an political challenger, Odinga served as senior minister in 2008 and also established a political pact with the leader last year in a public service characterized by evolving coalitions.

He commanded passionate devotion among supporters, especially in his Luo community based in the nation's western region, many of whom contend he was deprived of the highest office by electoral fraud.

Many of Odinga's mourners, who were not yet born in 1991 when Kenya transitioned to a multi-party democracy, paid tribute to Odinga's contributions as an activist.
